“It really was a senseless killing,” said Andy Banks, who talked to his brother daily. “To me
the hardest thing about it was I never got to say bye to him. They just took him out of
my life, quick.” More than 50 neighborhood residents, family and friends gathered for a
candlelight vigil at 4416 Midway Ave., where Banks’ truck came to rest Tuesday after
the 60-year-old Trotwood resident was shot two blocks away. Dayton police are still
searching for Banks’ killer, and hope to locate a 15-year-old boy who ran from the
scene wearing red pants with a sweater pulled over his face.
