Library services are among the points of contention between Cherokee County and its cities in the ongoing service delivery impasse. The county has called on the cities to return to mediation. AJC FILE

The Trotwood branch of the Dayton Metro Library closes to the public today, Feb. 22. at 6 p.m.

Library operations will be moving into the new facility at 855 East Main Street.

The grand opening of the new library is set for March 13 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with regular hours resuming the following day.

Several new public spaces are to come with the facility, including laptops for library use, a quiet reading room, outdoor patio and much more.

An outdoor nature play area incorporates local trees that were downed by the 2019 Memorial Day tornadoes, and quads for reading or study feature a Trotwood Trailer design.

Until the new facility opens on March 13, patrons are invited to visit the New Lebanon, Northwest Branch, or Brookville branches.
