Members of WPAFB, including active duty, civilian and contract employees and WPMC patients, were also invited to a town hall in which Butler answered questions from the audience after a brief presentation. He assured the audience that a strong active duty workforce, civilian and contract positions and programs like Graduate Medical Education were all valuable to DHA as the transition moves forward.
Veterans Affairs representatives, members of the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association and other community partners were also given a chance to meet with Butler in an open forum. The strong community relationships among the private sector and the 88th Medical Group were stressed, and Butler was made aware of the many ways in which the Dayton community hospitals work together with WPMC physicians, nurses and technicians to enhance the care provided to patients and the readiness training of the medical staff.
