Bill Miller, who posted the video on Facebook, said he kept receiving calls about the store at Salem and Grand avenues, so he went to check it out for himself.
“There was a safety hazard,” he said. “There were a couple aisles you couldn’t walk through. The back room was full.”
The Dayton Fire Department told News Center 7 that it was out at the store Wednesday morning.
They said that department is aware of the issues and is working with new management to discuss some of the violations and have them corrected.

While the manager was unable to comment, Miller said they spoke and that he’s glad the manager is here.
“He’s got the hours and the manpower that he needs, so he’s going to get everything done,” Miller said. “It’s going to get cleaned up. So we can be able to shop without trying to trip over stuff.”
Miller said that the manager told him that the state of the store was the result of previous management.
Though he doesn’t regularly shop at that Dollar General, Miller said he grew up in the area and that it is important to the community.

“There’s nothing around here where people can go and get some groceries and some quick goods,” he said. “The community relies on this store in order to get things for their households. For it to be like that, we have to be better.”
