Driver backs into Yaffa Grill in Miamisburg

A customer who had just picked up an order Saturday afternoon backed into the business, busting out a large front glass window at Yaffa Grill & Market.

No one was hurt around 4 p.m. when the gray four-door sedan crashed into the Mediterranean restaurant in the 2000 block of South Alex Road.

There was no structural damage, and customers and workers inside the restaurant were not near the front window, where the cash register is located. The manager said it was a close call.

“Usually as you see, people are all the time here. But luckily at that second, there was no cashier behind it,” Al Odeh said. “The cashier stepped away for one moment, and that’s when it happened. So we were very fortunate for that.”

Police responded, but the accident happened on private property so the driver was not cited. He was able to drive his car home from the scene.
