Our partners with the Dayton Daily News reported the death earlier today and were working to connect Qua'Lek's death to the shooting.

The Montgomery County Coroner's Office confirmed the child's death, but not the cause and/or manner of death.

Superintendent Elizabeth Lolli issued a statement:“The Dayton Public School District is saddened by the loss of Qua’Lek Shelton. His family, friends and classmates are in our thoughts. Crisis team members are available for those who need extra support.”

A Dayton Police Department spokesperson would not confirm whether Qua'Lek was one of the two juveniles shot and wounded Sunday.

News Center 7 reported Tuesday morning that the 15-year-old, presumably Qua'Lek, suffered life-threatening injuries and remained in a hospital, Dayton police Lt. Jason Hall said Monday. The other victim, identified only as a 16-year-old, was reported to be in good condition, Hall said.

The lieutenant did say police have multiple persons of interest they want to interview, but officers had not identified any potential suspects.

We're working for more details regarding this report and News Center 7's Sean Cudahy will have the complete story tonight at 11.
