One flown, one driven to hospital after Greene County car crash into tree

UPDATE @ 1:23 a.m.:

One person was flown and another was driven to the hospital after a car crashed into a tree in the 2900 block of state Route 235 in Bath Township, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers. Route 235 has been reopened.

Troopers said that two people were in the car, and the passenger, a man described as being in his mid-20s, was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital North with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, particularly to his leg and hip.

The driver, a woman also in her mid-20s, was driven in an ambulance to the Miami Valley Hospital main campus.

Troopers said that the cause of the crash is still being investigated, although they knew that the car was traveling southbound, swerved and crashed into a tree.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.

INITIAL REPORT:

Emergency crews are responding to a report of a one-vehicle crash that may have trapped one of the occupants  around state Route 235 and West Hyde Road.

Route 235 is closed in the area.

Initial reports said that two medics were called and CareFlight may have been requested to the scene.
