Fairborn Bluegrass and Brew Festival canceled

Fairborn has canceled the Bluegrass and Brew Festival because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The city has hosted the event for three years. It was scheduled for Aug. 7.

“While the governor has opened up many aspects of Ohio, there are still restrictions on mass gatherings, social distancing, and concerts and festivals,” the city said in a press release. “Our primary concern continues to be the health, safety, and welfare of our residents, employees, and visitors.”

The city previously canceled its Fourth of July fireworks and festival because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Bluegrass and Brew Festival is one of many summer festivals and celebrations being canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Fairborn city leaders encouraged residents to wash thier hands and stay home if they feel sick.

“The best way to prevent new cases of (coronavirus) is to limit exposure and encourage social distancing. We are taking this proactive step to keep our community and surrounding areas healthy,” the media release said.
