Initially, plans were to open the indoor family center by this fall, but securing financing slowed progress to a crawl.
Now, however, the electronic playland for kids — and energetic adults — is slated to open by mid-March. Weber picked up construction permits last week, and demolition is under way.
“We’re very excited to bring a family-friendly venue to the community,” said Caroline McKinney, the township’s economic development director.
Trustee David Kern agreed. “I’m absolutely thrilled that we’re finding a use for that empty building. That was a big priority for us,” Kern said.
Plans for the project feature a lazer tag arena, electric go-carts, mini bowling, an arcade and a restaurant. Also new to the blueprints is an ice cream parlour that carries exclusively the Oakley-based Aglamesis Brothers brand.
Weber, who operates a similar business in the Dayton area, said he will continue to operate the Fairfield location off Ohio 4 until the new shop opens in Liberty Twp.
