Crews were dispatched to the chamber building at 544 West National Road around 9:50 a.m. and initially reported smoke was coming from the structure, according to initial reports.
The fire was later located and extinguished in the ceiling of the building near the heating and air conditioning unit, investigators said. While the fire was near the HVAC unit, it has not been ruled as the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported and all employees of the businesses were able to safely evacuate before firefighters arrived.
Will Roberts, the President and CEO of the chamber of commerce estimated they will be displaced from the building for a couple of weeks due to the extensive damage.
“We’ll be back and it will be a temporary displacement, but we’ll be back stronger that ever,” Roberts said.
Firefighters said the salon would not reopen today but it was not known how long the business would be closed.
Additional details were not available.
