Furnace problems prompt explosion call in Monroe

MONROE — A reported propane explosion at a Monroe business this afternoon, Jan. 30, turned out to be a furnace malfunction, according to firefighters.

Fire units were dispatched at roughly 1 p.m. to the Stony Ridge Truck Plaza on Hamilton Lebanon Road on a reported explosion. Monroe fire Capt. Todd Waddell said a problem was found in a propane furnace, but there was no damage, fire or injures.
