Giant radio-controlled aircraft featured at this air show

Aircraft from all eras of aviation history will be featured during the 14th Annual Giant Scale Radio-Controlled Model Aircraft Air Show taking place at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force during Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-6.

More than 100 pilots will entertain audiences as they perform aerobatic maneuvers with radio-controlled (RC) aircraft.

Sponsored by the Dayton Ohio Giant Scalers, the air show is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The aircraft will perform a half-time show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, showing off the talent and abilities of the RC pilots.

The event is open to the public, and admission and parking are free. Food and merchandise will be available for purchase.

Those interested in attending the air show should enter the museum gate off Springfield Street and follow the signs to the event area behind the museum. Visitors are encouraged to take lawn chairs and blankets.
