Grandma accused of leaving child behind in Englewood police chase indicted

UPDATE @ 6:50 p.m.: Bond for Diona Murray, 43, was set at $5,000, according to Miami Valley Jail records.

Her next court date is set for Aug. 29 at 9:30 a.m.

INITIAL STORY: The grandmother accused of leading police on a chase following a suspected shoplifting incident at the Englewood Walmart was indicted on four charges today.

Diona Murray, 43, was arrested after she and a juvenile passenger allegedly fled from the vehicle she crashed during a July 10 pursuit, according to officials.

The grandmother’s 7-year-old grandson was left behind at the crash scene and police comforted the child.

Murray is charged with failure to comply, receiving stolen property, endangering children and petty theft.

She’s due in court for arraignment Aug. 14 and remains in jail on a $50,000 bond.
