Greene County approves $500K in grants for local projects

Greene County communities will be getting grants from the county to help pay for permanent public improvement projects.

County commissioners recently approved $500,000 to be set aside for the new Countywide Financial Grant Fund, which is being administered by the Greene County Department of Development.

The county’s 22 cities, villages and townships will receive varying amounts of the total fund in December.

For the cities of Beavercreek, Bellbrook, Fairborn and Xenia, a total of $175,000 was allocated. The remaining $325,000 has been allocated to the townships and villages, according to the commissioners’ resolution.

Officials in those communities will need to report back next October how the money was spent, according to the commissioners’ resolution.
