Police are asking for the public’s help to locate and identify the occupants of a car who fled the scene of a crash Sunday that killed a Dayton woman.
Alesia Brown, 26, who was the driver of one vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 12:30 a.m. on Germantown Street and Erbe Avenue in Dayton.
The passenger in Brown’s vehicle, who was not identified, was trapped inside the car and suffered critical injuries, a Dayton police spokeswoman said in a media release Monday.
The occupants of the other car, a stolen 2014 Chevrolet Sonic, fled the scene on foot while Brown and her passenger were trapped inside the car. The Chevrolet was reported stolen from the University of Dayton.
Anyone who might have witnessed the crash or might have information to help police is asked to call detective J. Sanders at 937-333-1104.

Alesia Brown, 26, was pronounced dead after the crash at the intersection of Germantown Street and Erbe Avenue in Dayton around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The other vehicle involved, a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic, was found unoccupied after the crash, according to a Dayton Police incident report.
The unoccupied car was reported as stolen by the University of Dayton Police Department, the report stated.
It was not immediately known if officers had any suspects or knew how many people were believed to have been in the stolen car when the crash happened.
