The recently renamed West Chester Hospital — as well as University Hospital — is one of the hospitals under the reorganized nonprofit umbrella. UC Physicians and UC Health Surgical Hospital are also located on the West Chester Hospital campus.
Eight members were named Tuesday to the UC Health board of directors, with another member pending, according to UC Health. The chair is George Strike, president and chief executive officer of Advance Textile Systems.
Gregory Williams, president of UC, Dr. Andrew Filak, interim dean and vice president of Health Affairs and James Kingsbury, president and chief executive officer of UC Health and Healthcare System, are directors of the board too.
UC Healthcare System also named five board members to the parent company, including Strike.
The changes reflect a more physician-led organization.
“We are moving to an organization where physicians hold key leadership posts and are involved in day-to-day critical decisions,” Condia said.
For example, Dr. Kevin Joseph last month was named chief executive officer of West Chester Hospital and senior vice president of UC Health.
The Health Alliance was previously a joint operating company, partly owned by members, he said. Hospitals left the group in the past year, including The Fort Hamilton Hospital, now part of Kettering Health Network of Dayton.
The University of Cincinnati became the sole member.
