Wright State University students and employees are making a difference in the local community by making over 500 blankets for children in need.

The annual Project Linus Blanket Making Marathon will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Student Union, according to a release.

Last year, more than 550 fleece blankets for children were cut, tied and labeled with the help of 250 volunteers, the release stated. Those blankets were then donated to local social service agencies and area shelters.

One blanket cost between $10 and $18 to make and Wright State has donated over 6,000 in previous years.

Since 1995, Project Linus has delivered over six million blankets to children in need.
