Help ‘Stuff the Bus’ today for local students with WHIO-TV, RTA

Help “Stuff the Bus” with school supplies for local after-school programs today.

News Center 7 will be on hand with a news truck full of supplies to contribute. RTA, in partnership with United Way, will have a bus at the event with the goal of stuffing the bus with school supplies, which will be given to area schools.

An employee supply drive at Cox Media Group will kick off donations.

You can help Stuff the Bus on Aug. 2 from 5-9 p.m. at Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton.

Donation requests include:

  • New/gently used books (mostly elementary level)
  • Puzzles
  • Gift cards to Kroger and Meijer for after-school snacks
  • Colored pencils
  • White or colored printing paper
  • Construction paper
  • Washable markers
  • Dry erase markers/erasers
  • Composition books
  • STEM games/activities/materials
  • Hula hoops
  • Sculpting clay
  • First aid supplies
  • Rubber bands
  • Poster board
