The driver was going north on Ohio 49 when the crash happened at West Third Street around 12:35 a.m.
The man who was struck, 48-year-old Thomas Waters, died at the hospital, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s office.
The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with police, according to Trotwood police.
No other details were immediately available.
The intersection of Ohio 49 and West Third was blocked while crews conducted the investigation.
