Closed Dayton food truck reopening after owner battles brain tumor

It is hard to keep a good food truck down.

The Wicked 'Wich of Dayton announced yesterday that it will hop on it broom and ride again.

A health emergency forced Katie Mark, the truck’s owner, to close the business in September.

She was diagnosed with a tumor on her pituitary gland that pushed on her optic nerve.

Mark said she had been "moody, tired, had headaches, and gained a significant amount of weight despite eating well quite regularly."

Several local fundraisers were held to support Marks, who is known locally for her popular Lady Marmalade sandwich.

The announcement that the 3-year-old business will return was greeted with support on Facebook.

Thanks to medical advancement and the amazing staff at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we are making a comeback in 2018!

That's right. We will be back, with our original menu plus a lot of new sandwiches! Katie, the owner, had two rathke cleft cysts on her brain last year. The symptoms caused her to have to shut the truck down, and she assumed permanently. Now that the issue is resolved, instead of jumping ship, we are back in open waters!
