According to Cantonrep.com, she was rushed to Mercy Medical Center in Canton then flown by emergency medical helicopter to Summa Akron City Hospital where she died from her injuries on Friday.
Growing up in Kettering, Wright and her family were actively involved in the community.
Wright’s mother, Christy Montavon, is a kindergarten teacher at John F Kennedy Elementary School in Kettering.
Her father, Bob Montavon, is the president and founding member of Resolute Wealth Management. He has been involved in the DorWood Optimists Club for years, and treasurer of the Kettering Parks Foundation Board. Wright also has two other siblings, a brother and sister who live in the Cincinnati area.
The family has been involved in St. Charles Borromeo Parish for many years and going on their summer mission trips to help build homes.
Wright was a ninth-grade math teacher for Alliance High School and led the school’s Culture Club, spirit week, pep rallies, and breakfasts, and she was also a class adviser.
“She definitely made a big difference,” Alliance High School Principal Shawn Jackson told Cantonrep.com “So it’s definitely going to be a tough time for her family and it’s a tough time for the Alliance (schools) family as well.”
According to longtime family friend, Sue Kimbrell, Wright was always striving to be her best.
“Her family was so proud of her,” Kimbrell said. “Madeline was so kind-hearted and encouraging. She became a teacher because of the education she received here (in Kettering).”
She was in her fifth year at the school district, and almost half of the 950 students at Alliance High School were taught by Wright.
Wright was survived by her husband Gage Wright.
