Kettering woman injured in head-on crash

KETTERING, OH -- A Kettering woman was seriously injured this morning in a head-on collision near West Stroop Road and Overland Trail.

The woman has not been identified, and suffered critical injuries in the accident around 8:30 a.m. She apparently attempted to manueuver around a stalled car and hit an SUV head-on. She had been traveling east on West Stroop Road.

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles. The woman drifted in and out of consciousness while emergency responders removed her.

OTHER ACCIDENTS THIS MORNING

•Auto accident in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the ramp for southbound I-75 in Butler Twp. A tractor-trailer ended up on its side, blocking traffic and spilling a load of lettuce and other produce. Tow truck crews were working at 8:45 a.m. to upright the trailer and allow the ramp to be reopened. The driver will be cited for failure to control, according to investigators. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two passengers were in the truck, and one of those was transported for treatment of a cut on the leg.

•Rescue crews were sent to the area of East Stroop Road and Ackerman Boulevard on a report of an injury accident. The accident was reported at 7:50 a.m. Monday. No other details were immediately available.
