Fairfield police say the driver struck the man around 1:15 a.m. near St. Clair Avenue prompting a medical helicopter to be called.
Fairfield Police confirm a man was struck by a car around 1:15am on Dixie Highway near St. Clair Ave this morning. The man was flown to the hospital with serious injuries, the driver of the car was not injured. Dixie Highway was closed for investigation. @WCPO pic.twitter.com/JA31MaZgTP

The driver was not injured.
The pedestrian’s name was not released.
Dixie Highway (state Route 4) was blocked while crews handled the incident, but has since reopened.
