Officers and medics responded to the report around 10:15 a.m. at the home in the 1200 block of Canfield Avenue.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but her condition was not immediately known.
Homicide detectives have been requested to the scene for the investigation.
A man was taken from the home into a police cruiser, according to our crew at the scene. However it was not clear if the man is considered a suspect.
