Miami County Jail inmate accused of fashioning weapon from plastic spoon

A Piqua man already serving 180 days in the Miami County Jail in Troy could be facing additional time if convicted on a new charge accusing him of fashioning a weapon from a plastic spoon.

Nathan Street, 33, is accused “taking a plastic spoon and shaving it down into a weapon with a point,” according to court records.

Street pleaded not guilty at arraignment by video Monday morning from the jail to Miami County Municipal Judge Gary Nasal. The new charge is possession of a deadly weapon while under detention.

Street already is in jail on charges of inducing panic, aggravated menacing and carrying a concealed weapon.
