Montgomery County news: Kettering wants old photos of Delco Park

KETTERING

Photos of Delco Park sought

Kettering Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts is seeking photo submissions for the Charles F. Kettering History Walk being constructed at Delco Park. The City and Dayton History do not have any photos of the industrial sports fields and activities that took place there between 1957 and 1975, according to Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Director Mary Beth Thaman.

The city asks residents who have any photos of the area during that time period to submit them so they can be used on the last panel of the walk, which includes three interactive stations detailing the inventor’s contributions to the community and the world. The history walk will circle the Kettering Veterans Memorial.

Both projects are slated to be completed by Veterans Day. For more information, call Kettering Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts at 937-296-2454. STAFF REPORT
