A building permit has been issued for a second hotel at Austin Landing.
Construction on the Staybridge Inn & Suites is expected to begin soon on 2.59 acres northwest of Kohl’s, and south of Kroger and The Hilton Garden Inn in what is estimated to be a $12 million project.
The 108-room extended stay hotel will have an indoor pool, a cabana, a guest laundry, a business center, a fitness room, a fire pit and a courtyard, and it will accommodate pets, officials said.
It will be operated by S + S Management and Hospitality, the same firm that runs The Hilton Garden Inn. Officials said the hotel rooms will feature a kitchen area. The rooms will include one- and two-bedroom suites, as well as studio units, he said. STAFF REPORT

Lanes reduced on Warren Street, as reconstruction begins
Reconstruction of Warren Street, from Wyoming Street to Buckeye Street, has begun.
Northbound traffic is reduced to a single lane, and further restrictions will reduce traffic flow to one lane in each direction beginning Monday. Delays are expected during peak traffic times.
The project consists of new pavement, sidewalks and lighting, as well as reconfiguring the street to include a left turn lane and bike lanes.
The $3.6 million project is expected to be complete in September 2016 and complements the reconstruction of nearby South Main Street (currently in its final stages) and the earlier reconstruction of portions of Brown and Stewart Streets. STAFF REPORT
