Motorcyclist hit metal street sign post in Preble Co.

A 20-year-old motorcyclist suffered broken bones Sunday night when he lost control, hit a metal street sign post and crashed into a cornfield, Trooper Andrew Meadors of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post said.

The crash happened shortly after 9:15 p.m. in the 11000 block of U.S. 127 north.

The motorcyclist, identified as Brandon Thobe of Minster, was flown with serious injuries to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition this afternoon.

Thobe was wearing a helmet, and alcohol is not suspected in the crash, Meadors said.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured tonight in a crash on U.S. 127.

The single-vehicle crash was reported just after 9:15 p.m. in the 11000 block of U.S. 127 north, just north of the village of West Manchester, according to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office.

A CareFlight medical helicopter was called to the scene and landed at ballfields near the village.

The crash is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.
