A fire reported Friday afternoon has damaged a portion of the Burger King in Beavercreek on Indian Ripple Road.

Firefighters were dispatched to the restaurant at 4380 Indian Ripple Road around 2 p.m., according to emergency scanner traffic.

Initial reports indicate a mulch fire spread into the walls of the restaurant, scanner traffic indicates.

Investigators said a discarded cigarette in the mulch might have sparked the blaze.

No injuries were reported. The business was closed while crews battled the blaze but was expected to reopen around 3 p.m.
