1 passenger dead after Butler County crash

A man has died following a crash Saturday night on Hamilton Eaton Road just south of Spring Road, according to a release from the Butler Co. Sheriff's Office. 

A car was traveling north on Hamilton East Road around 9:45 p.m. when it went off the road and struck a tree down an embankment.

A passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a second passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. 

The occupants identities have not yet been released.

The crash remains under investigation.

FIRST REPORT:

Multiple people were injured Saturday night in a crash south of Seven Mile.

The crash was reported around 10:15 p.m. on Hamilton Eaton Road at Spring Road in Butler County.

A CareFlight medical helicopter was called, but later canceled.

According to initial reports, at least one person was possibly trapped in the wreckage.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office dispatch did not have information on the severity of injuries, nor how many people were hurt. However, the dispatcher confirmed there were multiple injuries.
