Power restored to FirstEnergy customers in Clark County

FirstEnergy customers in Clark County continue to experience a power outage affecting nearly 3,300. Alan Brown, living on West National Road outside of Springfield, said his home lost power just after 9 p.m.

"It was abrupt," Brown said, adding that he received a robo-call from FirstEnergy telling him service would be restored by 12:30 a.m.

The quoted time reflects the estimated restoration times on FirstEnergy's website for four areas in Clark County.

Hundreds of customers in Bethel, Mad River and Springfield Twps. remain without power, while over 2,200 outages are reported in the City of Springfield.

Nearly 3,300 Clark County customers are without power, according to a FirstEnergy outage map.

A majority of the outages - 2,211 - are reported in Springfield, while 37 are reported in Springfield Twp. and another 477 are located in Bethel Twp.

Clark County sheriff's dispatchers said they have taken no calls concerning the outages.

According to the outage map, power is expected to be restored by 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A FirstEnergy spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
