New two-hour TV special dives into the execution-style murder of eight Ohioans

A national network has taken on one of Ohio’s most chilling murder cases.

The Oxygen network aired "The Piketon Family Murders" Sunday, March 31.

The two-hour special about the April 22, 2016  murders of eight people connected to the Rhoden family is now posted on the network's website.

it is scheduled to be aired on television several times including  1 a.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 and 8 a.m. Saturday, April 13.

The show’s description reads:

“In rural Piketon, Ohio a family of 8 is murdered execution style across four different properties. As police investigate the attack, word of the brutal murders sends shockwaves through the community and destroys the lives of two families.”

 

Jake and George Wagner are charged with eight counts of murder along with their mother Angela Wagner and father George "Billy" Wagner III.

Officials say they family gunned down Christopher Rhoden Jr.; Christopher Rhoden Sr.; Clarence "Frankie" Rhoden; Dana Lynn Rhoden; Gary Rhoden; Hanna May RhodenHannah Hazel Gilley and Kenneth Rhoden.

Hanna Rhonden and Jake Wagner had a child together.

Billy's mother, Fredericka Wagner, and Angela's mother, Rita Newcomb, face charges that they attempted to  cover up the crime.
