Officer hurt in foot chase; suspect pleads not guilty

URBANA, Ohio -- A police officer was injured during a foot chase Tuesday afternoon. Now, the suspect says he is not guilty.

The Springfield News Sun reports that 42-year-old Chance E. Adams was arrested on charges of assault, domestic violence, obstructing official business and abduction.  A pre-trial hearing is set for June 1. He is jailed on $20,000 bond.

Urbana police say officers responded to a domestic violence call at Adams' house. He took off when an officer tried to arrest him, jumping from a second story window and leading officers on a foot chase. Sgt. Seth King was hurt when he tackled Adams.
