OSP: Crashed semitrailer on state Route 72 in Greene County cleared

UPDATE @ 10:42 p.m.: State Route 72, where a semitrailer crashed into a ditch at Lackey Road in Ross Twp., should be reopened within minutes as tow truck are on scene, Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatch said.

The state patrol closed the road because the trailer, which carried automotive parts, had to be emptied before the two trucks could do their thing.

The driver apparently was not injured in the accident and he likely will be cited for failure to control, according to the state patrol.

INITIAL REPORT

A semitrailer is on its side after crashing into a ditch on state Route 72 at Lackey Road in Ross Twp., north of Jamestown in Greene County.

The accident was reported about 8:15 p.m. and we’re hearing the driver was trying to climb out of the cab.

Whether the driver was injured was not known. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the accident.

State Route 72 is being closed from Wolford Road to Lackey Road until further notice because the trailer has to be emptied before the semitrailer can be righted.
