McCormack Baron Salazar helped transform a windowless, abandoned and graffiti-covered building in Detroit, Mich., into homes and shops. The Strathmore offers 129 apartments and 2,100 square feet of retail space. The $28 million project resulted in a mixed-use, mixed-income building with a central courtyard, a conference room, a gallery space/common room area for residents, bike storage, a fitness room, and a dog wash station. Nearly half of the apartments are affordable to low-income renters. CONTRIBUTED
