A man is in custody after a SWAT standoff ended on Hiawatha Drive in Harrison Twp. Wednesday morning.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Hiawatha Drive after a person reported an altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend who lived at the house.

The family reported having mental health concerns for the man, according to the sheriff’s office.

SWAT was called to respond due to multiple weapons being inside the home.

Deputies removed multiple children from the home once on the scene.

A hostage negotiator convinced the man to come outside after he barricaded himself inside the home.

The standoff started around 6 a.m. and ended around 10 a.m.

It is not clear if any charges will be filed, but Sheriff Rob Streck they are trying to get the man mental health help.
