Two facing charges after Clay Twp. home part searched in Piqua firearms theft investigation

Two people are facing charges after a stolen firearms investigation in Piqua led officers to conduct a search warrant at a Clay Twp. mobile home Wednesday afternoon, according to investigators.

Kimberly M. Marcum, 46, is facing theft and receiving stolen property charges, police said. John E. Putterbaugh, 77, was reportedly charged with receiving stolen property.

All charges are misdemeanors.

Officers from Clay Twp. and the Piqua police departments are in the first block of Beachview Drive, near Brookville Salem Road after the search was executed around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Some property was recovered during the search, however, the stolen firearms were not located at the house, Piqua police said in an update Thursday morning.

Two people were located inside the home when police arrived on the scene and both were detained, according to Clay Twp. Police Chief John Van Gundy.

It was not immediately known if the two people detained were going to be arrested or would face any charges in the investigation.
