Police issued call for assistance after man refuses to leave liquor store, fights deputies

A man has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail after being arrested at 8:27 p.m. at the Salem Beverage Mart.

Leron L. Hargrove, 32, was booked on charges of obstructing official business, resisting arrest and intoxicated disorderly conduct, according to the Montgomery County Jail website.

Hargrove is scheduled to be in court this morning.

INITIAL REPORT:

Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office issued a call for officer assistance Monday after a man began to fight with deputies trying to escort him out of the Salem Beverage Mart on Salem Avenue.

According to a press release, deputies were called around 7:30 p.m. and told that a man was inside the store trying to sell a television and refused to leave.

After deputies arrived and the person was identified, they asked him to leave again, and he again refused.

While deputies were trying to escort him out, the release said, he started to fight with the deputies, leading to the call for assistance.

The man was put into custody shortly after, and the assistance call was canceled.
