His brother, Joe Eacholes, pleaded a while ago to the same charge and will also be sentenced Jan. 19, according to Assistant Prosecutor Brad Burress. He is already in prison on drug charges.
Spaeth sentenced one of the gang leaders, Ricardo Robertson, to 16 years in prison on aggravated robbery charges with gang specifications in October. He and his accomplice, Tryvale Redmond, held two people at gunpoint to steal Ecstasy drugs from them.
Redmond was sent to prison for three years.
Another gang member, Anthony Blake, was convicted of murder with a gun specification for shooting Terron Moton three times in the head about 1 a.m. Jan. 1 on the dance floor of the Edwards Brothers Hall. He was also convicted of having weapons under a disability because he was not legally permitted to possess a gun due to a previous drug conviction.
Prosecutor Mike Gmoser said his goal was to “dismantle and dismember” the street gang. He said neighbors have expressed their gratitude.
“It is the end of the Baltimore Street Gang,” he said. “We have had reports from members of that local community, in that neighborhood who have expressed how quiet it now is and there is an enhanced feeling of safety and that is a good thing.”
