DP&L power line damage causes outage in Kettering, Oakwood area

Dayton Power & Light crews are currently working to make repairs to a utility line responsible for a power outage to nearly 2,700 customers mainly in Kettering but also in Oakwood.

The damaged line was reported Friday afternoon near the intersection of Shroyer Road and East Dorothy Lane.

The outage was described as an “isolated incident” and crews were quickly in the area to make repairs, according to Mary Ann Kabel, DP&L spokeswoman.

An online outage map initially indicated 2,691 outages were reported at 2 p.m. However, by 2:15 p.m. the outage dropped to 960.

There was no immediate estimation of restoration.
