“We will be connecting new cable to serve the village of De Graff,” Rob Beeler, DP&L spokesman said.

The outage is necessary, he said, to replace an old cable feeding the village.

It will be cold tonight, with temperatures expected in the teens or 20s.

However, Beeler said the replacement is better done sooner rather than later in case there is an equipment failure during the holidays or during extreme weather.

In such as case, an unplanned outage would last for far longer than five hours, he said.
