Power restored to Springfield after large outage left hundreds in the dark

There is still no word on the cause.

INITIAL REPORT:

We are hearing reports of a large power outage in Springfield.

First Energy’s outage page reports the total number of outages to be between 501 and 1,500 people, but did not have an exact estimate.

Clark County Regional dispatch indicated that they were aware of the outage, but did not know of any causes.

The outage page reports that crews have been dispatched to the scene and are investigating a cause.

We have reached out to First Energy for any word on the cause of the outage.
