Deputies were in the 4100 block on a possible stolen vehicle recovery when the regional dispatch center received a report of shots fired in the same area, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

A caller to 9-1-1 said people were firing guns in front of the Meadowdale Drive address.

"Oh my God they're screaming," the caller said.

The caller said the voices of two men and a female could be heard.

"They won't leave," the caller told the emergency operator. "They're still out front."

Deputies arrived during the conversation, according to the operator.

When deputies arrived to the scene they found one person with injuries and another with a handgun, as well as the possible the stolen vehicle from the original call.

No injuries were reported from the gunshot.

An initial investigation suggests that a person attempted to recover a reported stolen vehicle without the assistance of officers, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate.
