Ring stolen from Springfield store

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities Springfield say a man ran off with a $9,000 diamond ring from a Macy's jewelry counter.

The sheriff's office in Clark County says two men in their 20s had been looking at jewelry Wednesday night at the Upper Valley Mall Macy's in Springfield. The store said the two asked to see the 1-carat diamond and white gold ring, and one of the men was allowed to handle it. Deputies say he then fled the department store with the ring.

Investigators plan to review store video. They say more people may have been involved in the theft.
