“We are in great need of gowns right now,” Carpenter said. “We’re okay on gloves and masks, but that could change rapidly.”
Any supply donations can be dropped off in the main lobby outside the Riverside city office doors, located at 5200 Springfield St. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Carpenter said there is a box in the lobby that will be emptied at the end of each day.
There is a shortage of personal protective equipment, like gloves and masks, across the country. Some health care workers are having to wear their masks for several days in a row to conserve supplies.
Emergency medical responders are wearing the gloves, gowns and masks when they respond to houses of people that are suspected of having the coronavirus, Carpenter said.
“We are just trying to follow the governor’s lead,” Carpenter said.

Carpenter urged Riverside residents to also follow Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s orders and stay at home.
“If you have to go out, don’t go out often and stay at least 6-feet apart from other people,” he said.
Any supplies that the Riverside first responders don’t use will be donated to area hospitals. Carpenter said they would likely start with the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association and see who needs the supplies.
