John Reese, 40, was being monitored by the FBI for violent blog posts he was making. The standoff on Oct. 1 started after Reese’s mother confronted him about buying guns and body armor on her credit card. Reese killed himself at some point during the standoff, Riverside Maj. Matt Sturgeon said.

The photos, obtained by News Center 7 through a public records request, show the house in disarray with guns scattered throughout it.
A search warrant return filed in Montgomery County Municipal Court shows police seized 128 pieces of property from the house, including guns, ammunition, body armor and other items. According to the warrant return, 106 of the items recovered were found in Reese's bedroom or closet.
The outside of the home remains boarded up with damage from the standoff remaining on other areas of the property.
“It’s certainly something we understand is going to take time to figure out,” said neighbor John Rose. “Would I like things to kind of speed along, certainly – but that’s beyond -there are things that need to be done.”
Riverside police said Reese’s mother, who was injured in an assault by Reese prior to the standoff, has not been living at the home.
The damage to the house has been turned over to the homeowner’s insurance company for repairs, Sturgeon said.
The FBI has declined comment on their involvement with Reese prior to the standoff.
