‘Roll’ trash containers on way

During the week of Sept. 9, the city will deliver 96-gallon wheeled waste containers to 480 residences that abut alleys, for a change that was announced in the fall of 2012. The new program is expected to be more efficient and less costly for the city.

There is no charge for the containers. The city received a grant from the Montgomery County Solid Waste District for a majority of the cost. Residents should continue to place co-mingled recyclables in self-provided, 35-gallon or smaller containers with securable lids.

At the same time, workers will dispose of old trash containers that are no longer needed. Mark “discard” on them and place with your regular trash. For more information, call (937) 298-0777. TERRY MORRIS
