Residents reported hearing four or five gunshots, and then saw a white four-door sedan speed off in an unknown direction shortly before 4 p.m. on North Euclid Avenue near West First Street, Dayton police Sgt. Creigee S. Coleman said.

“It’s a shame that in this situation a person, the victim, was walking down the sidewalk on his merrily way, and he was shot at by a person inside a vehicle by indiscriminate gunfire,” the sergeant said.
The victim was shot in the leg, and was taken by a private vehicle to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that Coleman said are not life-threatening.

“We need the public’s help to come forward and let us know exactly what they saw, what time, possibly how many people were inside the vehicle so we can solve this crime,” Coleman said.
