SICSA is proposing the Community Cat Initiation which will include:
Helping the community differentiate between community and owned cats
Assisting the community in understanding why the previous system didn’t work
Sharing the successes of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programming
Providing a step-by-step guide to TNR
>> SICSA offers tips on what to do if you spot unattended cats
SICSA President and CEO Nora Vondrell said, “There is a history in this community, and many other similar communities, of solely relying on resources from local municipalities, SICSA, and other animal welfare organizations to solve the stray and feral cat problem. The reality is that the most important part of the Community Cat Initiative we are proposing is the community-portion.”
SICSA will also be offering a free Community Cat seminar for the public on May 21 and June 3. If interested, sign up on the website.
