Local residents can hold the same bat Babe Ruth once swung… and maybe walk away with cash for their own sports cards and memorabilia as the Sports Collectible Road Show makes a stop in Dayton this weekend.

Those who own sports, historical or entertainment memorabilia and trading cards can speak with a team of evaluation experts beginning today through Sunday at the Sports Collectible Road Show.

The event will be held at the Residence Inn, 7227 York Center Drive, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Anyone who stops by is welcome to hold and take a picture with an authentic game-used early 1930s Babe Ruth bat. There is no charge and other historic baseball memorabilia will also be on display.

Experts will provide free appraisals and also buy quality items on the spot. Examples of items include: vintage and other sports cards (pre-1980s), autographs, game-used items, original photos, game-worn player jerseys and equipment, historic items or Hollywood memorabilia.

Pre-1970s material is most desired for purchase but questions about any type of memorabilia are welcome.
